About
Bonnel Homes have submitted a planning application for 345 new homes, including up to 88 affordable homes, alongside an eight hectare public park in Blaby. You can view it here.

The application will also generate over £1.7m of contributions to support local infrastructure, including GP surgeries, hospitals, and schools. This also includes money for improving local sports pitches.

Why support the proposal?

We believe there are several good reasons to support this proposal which we summarise as follows:

-
Building more homes, including affordable homes, will give more people the opportunity to have a beautiful place to live in Blaby.
-
The new eight hectare public park will be available for the community to enjoy for years to come.
-
The park will retain the gap between Blaby and Countesthorpe in perpetuity.
-
A new convenience store will be available for everyone in Blaby to use.
-
The proposal will create new links for the neighbourhood to Blaby Oaks, Oakfield Park, and reduce the need for pedestrians to walk on Winchester Road.

-
New housing, including affordable housing, is needed in Blaby District.
-
Keepers Farm is a highly sustainable location for development.
-
A new country park will complement the existing country park, and offer new facilities to the community.
-
The park will also ensure there is a green buffer between Blaby and Countesthorpe for generations to come.
-
A new convenience store will be available for both the new residents, and the existing community in Blaby.
-
There will be new pedestrian links created to Blaby Oaks, Oakfield Park and the wider right-of-way network around Blaby.
